Magicians visit the Davenports’ family home

In the 1930s, when the Davenports lived in Kent, they often invited their friends in magic to visit. This film, taken in the garden at Ivydene, includes well known magicians: Cardini, Les Levante and Bill Stickland. It captures what was clearly a happy time with people larking about. It is the only film in which you will find Levante pushing Gus Davenport in a pram! Bill Stickland is caught showing some magic to the garden gnomes and Cardini demonstrates his manipulation skills.
