Jimmy’s Magic Pencil novelty

This pencil is unusual in that it is a double ‘catch’. The words on it say: ‘Guaranteed to write any color. “It Jumps” No visible spring, elastic or loadstone. No one allowed to investigate secret by using a Flashlight or Match. Do not hold pencil out over one Minute at a time.’ The reality is that it writes any colour by spelling out the colour, for example RED, GREEN etc. The jumping is achieved using the same approach as on the Snapper novelty catch, see for example item N1450. The company name on the pencil is Sanders Mfg. Co., Nashville, Tenn.
