Dante’s telegram congratulating Davenports on their Gogetit spirit, 1938

In December 1938 Davenports opened their new shop at 39/41 New Oxford Street, London. Upstairs was the Demon Club, a new venture for the benefit of their customers and club members. Further details are given in the page illustrated here from the Demon Telegraph of November/December 1938. Dante’s telegram congratulating the family is printed in the same issue, as reproduced here. He had sent the telegram to 204 High Holborn, the shop Davenports were in the process of vacating.
