Photograph of Fred Culpitt’s Doll’s House Illusion from a Maskelyne programme

Fred Culpitt appeared in the Maskelyne magical revue “Hey Presto” at St. George’s Hall in 1924. This illusion was Fred’s own invention. Culpitt opened the doors of the doll’s house and removed some furniture, showing that the doll’s house was now empty. As Culpitt removed the chimney pot, the roof opened and a lady was found inside, his partner Jan Glenrose. This actual doll’s house illusion is in the Davenport Collection, see N194.
