If you press down on the back of the frog and let go suddenly, the frog jumps forward. It can jump at least 300mm. This was first shown to John Davenport in 2004 by Mick Guy. He is a fan of origami and puzzles, and so this folding of his business card into a jumping frog was appealing. We are grateful to Mick Guy for the following information: sadly, this is one of those models where the designer’s name has become lost. It is based upon a traditional frog, has been around for about sixty years and maybe of American origin, but that is as much as is known. The important thing is to use typical business card stock, as this gives it the required springiness.
