Alan Adair (real name Basil Leakey) was the Organising Secretary of the Adair Wounded Fund. It was a charity which supported entertainment for those wounded in WW1. Illustrated is Alan Adair’s ‘thank you’ letter to Lewis Davenport, as well as the page from Lewis’s notebook that records the turns on the bill and the tricks Lewis did. The final trick was “Felix” – the production of a person-sized Felix the Cat from his Expanding Die illusion.
