Following the death of Colonel Stodare in 1866, his widow Madame Stodare took over the show with the assistance of Mr. Firbank Burman. Her husband had included ventriloquism in the show but, at first, when she took over, there was no ventriloquism (see N3591). This later handbill shows that G.W. Jester was added as a ventriloquial act to provide variety in the bill.
