Photograph of a poster of Chung Ling Soo Mysteries presented by Li Sing Foo

This photograph came to the Davenport Collection from the John Salisse Collection. We have no information on the source of the photograph. However, the Chung Ling Soo half sheet poster is well known. It is also well known that some of these posters were overprinted The Chung Ling Soo Mysteries presented by Li Sing Foo. Li Sing Foo was Arthur William Hortopp. He had an interesting career which, over the years, made use of several performing names: Hortopp, Amasis, Li Sing Foo and Ben Said.
