The Royal Hand-Bell Ringers and Glee Singers at the Egyptian Hall, 1880

Three related items are included here. The advertising flier illustrated is for “The Horns” Assembly Rooms, Kennington Park. At the top of it, just under the date, is hand written ‘also at the Egyptian Hall. Oct 5.80.’ The newspaper advertisement confirms that the bell ringers will be at the Egyptian Hall from 4 October. Finally, there is an informative press review of the performance. We learn from it that Mr Benn had a spot in which he entertained with illustrations and portraits, some made while he was blindfolded. The reviewer clearly enjoyed the whole performance.
