The compass is said to be made in white ivorine. The performer holds the compass between thumb and fingers of one hand. As the compass is turned around, the arrow confusingly starts pointing in different directions. The envelope in which it was sold tells us that: ‘It will puzzle your friends. It will drive your enemies crazy.’ The envelope contains the original instructions, but unfortunately the compass is missing.
