The Birthday Card by Graham S Clarke

A spectator takes a card from a regular pack and then opens a birthday card that has been in full view. The first surprise is that the birthday card contains a jumbo card that matches the one chosen by the spectator. The second surprise is that, when the card is opened, it says: “I don’t believe it! You’re another year older.” The voice is that of Victor Wilson who used “I don’t believe it” as a catchphrase when he played Victor Meldrew in the TV series ‘One Foot in the Grave’. The series was very popular and the catchphrase was taken up by many people in the country.
