Rowntree medal to commemorate the coronation of H.M. King Edward VIII in 1937

It was produced for the makers of Rowntree’s cocoa, jellies and gums. The coronation of Edward VIII as King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth and as Emperor of India was due to take place at Westminster Abbey on 12 May 1937. In the event he abdicated in 1936, but by then all sorts of memorabilia had been planned or produced.
