Cecil Lyle (1889-1955) travelled the world performing stage magic. This film taken by the Davenport family catches part of his act at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London. He was well known for a number of tricks. At the very end of this film clip you can see one of his inventions, the Vanishing Gramophone, being carried on stage by an assistant.
