Exhibition ‘Storm at Sea’ at the Egyptian Hall, 1838. The rescue by Grace Darling and her father.

This exhibition covers an event which created national interest. There was a shipwreck off the coast of the Ferne Islands in Northumberland. Grace Darling, the daughter of the Longstone lighthouse keeper, along with her father, rescued many of the survivors. She became a national heroine. The rescue took place in atrocious weather.
