Eric Widger was a good magician with particularly entertaining patter. He was well known for far-fetched stories, often speaking of his fictional colourful uncles. For example, if a trick involved a nautical theme, Eric would patter about his uncle Barnacle Widger. He was a good friend and contributed a trick (with the most outrageously far-fetched patter) to the book Magic Circle Magic published by The Magic Circle as a tribute to the memory of George Davenport and Lewis Davenport. The Davenport Collection received from Mary Widger, Eric’s widow, various of his close-up items in this box. It is full of good magic with which Eric would create mystery and entertainment.
