The Disappearing Spots

Four three spot cards are show. First they change into four Aces, and finally they are shown to be blank. Complete with instructions. The envelope containing the trick has the initials L D on it, for Lewis Davenport, confirming that the trick was supplied by Davenports. Simple tricks such as this were often sold wholesale to small shops such as tobacconists or toy shops for them to sell over the counter. This envelope has been stamped Langley & Co Ltd, Dolls House, Royal Arcade, Norwich. In 2024 Langley’s toy shop was still trading in the Royal Arcade although ownership of the business had changed. See N3357 for another example of this trick made up with cards which have square cut corners rather than rounded corners.
