The brown envelope contains two pages of instructions. Any pack may be used. The first instruction sheet explains how a borrowed pack, shuffled by spectators, can be used to achieve an apparently impossible trick. Three matching cards – say three 10s – are taken and mixed with other cards. Despite this they turn up together again. The second instruction sheet explains ‘Through the Card Barrier – Improved Version’. With this version all four matching cards, such as the four 10s, can be used. However, this trick cannot be done with a borrowed deck.
