Stop-Go apple

With this apparatus an a little bit of preparation, the magician is able to show an apple which slides up and down on the string. When the string is held vertically, the apple naturally falls to the bottom of the string. However, when commanded to do so by the magician, the apple will stop anywhere down the length, as desired by the audience. The country of manufacture is not known.
